Rosie's Round Up - Five

Monday

First Monday back at work post lovely birthday weekend was never going be particularly inspiring, was it?!

Pretty naff outfit, jazzed up by my lovely new Me & Zena necklace (amazing bday pressie!). Also, side note: This was a knee length pencil skirt, totes customised it up to a mini last summer. Go me!

Now, as always: MONDAY: BE GONE!

Tuesday, again another non day. This Tuesday is mildly better as i'm off to celebrate lovely Karli's birthday this eve.

Office wear was an old Urban Outfitters dress and another birthday pressie, amazing gold necklace from Accessorize.

This necklace is just so lush! I love!
Wednesday

Newbie dress from my faves H&M, rubbish photo (I think I need to upgrade my camera for this blog...hmmm) but its black and blue stripes and lovely.

I also discovered & other stories this week. Needless to say I am in love with everything and have my eye on a few things for the summer, this dress in particular.

Fog in my bedroom perhaps?
Thursday

Spectacularly naff photo, I have dropped my game this week! Good old dungas, retro tee underneath and the old faithful leopard print cardi.

...that's all I gotta say about that one...

Friday

I brought this dress with my first ever student loan payment! So its lasted the test of time, and I feel like I am in Mad Med or something similar when I have it on. More the fact its a bright red dress than the style, but there you go.

I love the fluted sleeves, and I do love a good waist dress, its pretty forgiving even though its formfitting so Friday Office lunch treats made no difference to my comfort! Ha!

Also, very pleased as new short hair is still 'up do' do able. Many a bobby pin but it stayed in, huzzah!
Looking back, this weeks clothing has been rather naff really! I promise something more interesting to look at next week.

Stay wonky xXx

Birthday!

I turned 27 on Saturday, Twenty. Seven. I suddenly feel incredibly old! But its all good, positive thinking and all that jazz. I have upped the anti on 'sorting out life to match that of whimsical 17 year old Rosie' so hopefully my 27th year will turn out to be a glorious one!

Anyhoo, enough of the whimsy most importantly I had a bloody brilliant weekend surrounded by all of my fave faces.

I cleverly forgot to take a photo of my outfit for the evening, but its a bloody mega H&M dress that will be making many a appearance in my round up blogs i'm sure!

Ta Google!
We headed down to the famous Bom-Banes in Kemp Town. Greeted by the wonderful Jane Bombane we enjoyed a rather delcious 'Bom-bane Banquet' and a lorra wine. Personal highlight was my INCREDIBLE birthday cake, concocted by my lovely Simon and our friend Jin-Ye who is seriously artistic.

Thats me,  made out of icing, in my famous tartan circle skirt!

Some truly lovely presents from my pals :-)

No pressure, given a doll with dip dyed lilac hair:

"Its you love! Can't wait for you to finish your hair change!"

My two darling besties have got me a secret day out next month, and my lovely Simon is taking me to Harry Potter World!

Like I said, bloody lucky lady <3

27 and BOOM!

Rosie's Round Up - Fourth

Why can't weekends feel as long as the working week hey?
Its always worse if you have had a lovely weekend, which we did; exploring Stanmer Park with our friends.

Monday
I was in a bad mood from the second I woke up, so I whacked on an outfit that would look fresh on Cher from Clueless and tried to get through this rather crappy day without any drama.

Spots and Stripes make things alright.

The accessories made this outfit, good old vintage Topshop belt, my fave necklace from Snoopers Paradise (the best bit of this short vid is the first guy interviewed...a well known thief and scammer! Ha!) in the lanes and a pair of spotty tights.

Now Monday, be gone!

Tuesday

Boobs!

One thing I am noticing with my new short hair is my boobs! They seem to be very, er *there* now. Am thinking a few new tops may need to be brought...anyway today's was an old faithful New Look aztec dress with a chunky waist belt cos I was feeling skinny ;-)

Wednesday

Rather plain outfit snazzed up by my most favourite necklace from DesignosaurYeah
New Look shoes today, although san socks it was chilly, come the eff on summer.
Double AND miss matched denim, lordy.

Thursday

I really do love Aztec prints! All the clothes with the print at from at least last year but its still so good!

Pretty normal outfit jazzed up by a lovely cardi/bolero/shrug thing from Urban Outfitters.

I also came upon this incredible Dior dress. Worn by Carice Van Houten of Game of Thrones fame (by the way omg-i-cannot-fucking-wait-season-4-YES) Its from the same Dior collection as the beautiful skirt I mentioned before and I am completely in love with it!

I want it a LOT.

Friday was the day before my 27th birthday. I cannot believe I am 27. I really can't. I am going to do a little post about all the wonderful things my friends and family said and did, I really, really am such a lucky lady.

Flamingo based clothing increased by 100%

Anyhoo, the descent of my best girlfriends meant a half day at work (hoorah!) so to see out my 26th in that office I wore a new tee from good old Primark what I suspect will become a firm fave.

Birthday weekend has been wonderful and full of my favourite people. But more on that in a bit, I am old now and need my rest.

Stay wonky! xXx

Snip, Crimp and a Bob.

I have always had long, blonde hair. Every member of my family at some point or another has said:

'You have such lovely long, blonde hair - never dye or cut it!'

So...I never have!

Today though, after years of just 'taking off an inch' I got it chopped at Forde Hair on North Street and I LOVE IT.

Before and after: Mermaid hair be gone!
This is part one of getting ma hurrr did, bleach and dip dye next:-)

We are off out for a drink and to check out The Grand Budapest Hotel, I have no doubt I will love it...and probably buy clothes inspired by it very soon!

Happy Saturday y'all
xXx

Rosie's Round Up - 3

So the sun has come out. I cannot begin to tell you how happy this makes me. Brighton is a wonderful place in general, however in the bleak winter months - and eff me the winter months were bleak this year were they not? - it can be a bit grey and depressing.
Anyway, the second the sun comes out, Brighton shiiiines! Along with the sunburnt faces/chests/bald heads from all the tourists who forgot their suncream. But the less said about them the better.

Anyhoo, Monday. Monday was glorious, but it was after all, still a Monday. Good old Denim dungas stepped up, mainly because I got up late and they were the first thing I saw...

A cheapy but lovely Primark tee and necklace completed this work look. I really love the mint in the necklace, hoping its in the shops a lot this summer as it will look sweet with a tan.

Didn't realise this was such a boob fest until I looked at this pic properly...!

Tuesday is my least favourite day of the week. The weekend gone is a distant memory and the weekend in front feels a million miles away!

To ease my Tuesday blues I whacked on a crop top and my lovely structured black skirt from H&M. Along with my New Look sandals and a pair of jazzy socks my outfit really cheered up my day!

Wednesday

This lovely blog caught my eye. I am not a massive vintage fan but couldn't help notice that this particular entry featured two items of clothing that I do really love, a high waisted trouser and a good old circle skirt!

I have been feeling quite brave this week, crop tops a plenty. So todays humpday look was a H&M denim look top with so olllld Topshop highwaisted jeans and an equally old but fab purple belt.

Thursday

I cleverly did a mega-massive-huge wash of pretty much all my decent clothes on Monday night. In some cleanliness based fit of pique all items, some even clean, got whacked in the washing machine.

Thursday thought of the day, in honour of my lovely boyf.

Anyway, this has meant a few outfits I wouldn't normally get out of the 'drobe yet. To be honest I had completely forgotten about this dress.

Good old Urban Outfitters from two years ago. I know this because it was a birthday gift from my very own hunky bearded and bespectacled boyfriend for my 25th birthday...and I am (much to my own disbelief) turning 27 next week.

Friday

Friday, Friday, Friday best day of the week meant best skirt! I am keeping today's short as tomorrow deserves a long one...after years and years of long flowing hair....I am getting bobbed!

Rosie's Round Up - Part Deux

Does the French title make my second round up blog sound suave and classy? I do hope so, they are both things I generally fail to achieve in my day to day life. So the blog can make up for that.

Anyway, as if its the first week of March. But it is, and this week actually happens to be quite an exciting week for me, but my lips are sealed on that for a bit... elusive ey.

So Monday. I wore one of my old faithfuls, River Island red/blue/black dress.

Its so colourful, really simple for work AND, and, I spotted Queen B wearing a playsuit that is sortoftotallymaybe similar. I was lucky enough to see Beyonce tour last year, was seriously the best show ever. And shes touring again, still fab, still beaut, still the Queen. Still not seeing her again, buuuut that's OK.

Sort of the same right? Sort. Of.
Tuesday was a Aztec dress from New Look. Last summer they had a lot of Aztec prints, this was a firm fave last summer and I am really look forward to wearing it when the sun stays out for a bit longer. My old faithful leopard print cardi added a splash of the clash.

Tuesday evening meant a good old catch up with Karli of Designsaur fame, she talks faster than I do so it was chinwags galore, along with burgers and Coke floats at MEATliquor

Funky interiors, coke floats and a grin. Perf Tuesday night.

Midweek lull meant some wacky Wednesday prints in the form of the ol' banana leggings from my second home H&M.

I LOVE them!

Thursday felt like a dungas and new shoesies kinda day.

Grown up jelly shoes

I loved these shoes the second I saw them! Jelly shoes were my number one shoe of choice when I was a kid - even more some as bridesmaid once - so I brought these beauts from New Look the second I could.
Its still a bit to chilly for bare feet so I popped along to good old Primark and brought the largest amount of socks I have ever purchased. I know I won't wear them all, and you can never have enough socks ey!

Friday felt like summer had FINALLY hit. My favourite outfit from last year was this lovely skirt from Viven of Holloway. it was the circle skirt that started The Summer of Circle Skirts so I was pretty pleased to get it on again for the first time this year

I have far too many tartan based goods
Saturday

You can never have enough pink glitter

Saturdays outfit was a rather naff legging and top situation as I prepped for a night out in my home town of Southampton.
Got ma nails did by my wonderful friend Victoria again, went for a Barbie-esq glitter explosion, my eight year old self would be so happy with my 26 year old self!

Outfit of the night was a wonderful crushed blue velvet dress from H&M with my old faithful Irregular Choice gold ankle boots. Rather shockingly I was more preoccupied with drinking Gin and dancing like a teenager so there are no good photos to show off this outfit! The shame!!

I do however plan on wearing it again very soon, so worry not my dears, there will be selfies a go go. ;-)

Until next week, stay wonky! See ya! xXx

Rosie's Round Up - The first one!

So I blogged last week that a weekly round up would start next week....and here it is!

I cannot believe its the last week of February. Not quite sure where this year is going....its going fast though that's for bleedin' sure.

Anyway, this week starts as every week does, with a Monday. Another mundane MondayIn what can only be described in a 'better outfit, better mood' tactic I braved my new H&M Crop with my old faithful H&M black high waisted dungarees.

Whilst sassing about my house before I left for work I was totally rocking them...

Buuuut as I came to leave the house I wondered whether or not it was 100% a 'office proffesh' so whacked on my wonderful Flamingo cardi, or my Crazy Jean cardi as some of my darling friends call it from the now defunk Bay Trading. So it was an average Monday, albeit with a slightly cold midriff.

On to Tuesday....

Today I wore my brilliant ASOS denim dungarees, with a basic floral top and an old fave leopard print cardi. Tuesday is a monumentally crap day, the worst of the week in my opinion. So a good ol' pattern clash brightened it up. A bit.

Full skirt humpday baby!

I loved this Dior Skirt worn by the beautiful Natalie Portman the second I saw it. Then came my hunt for something remotely similar from the high street!

I was pretty pleased to find this skirt from H&M, a meager attempt at a Dior Silver skirt, but for the streets of Brighton it will do perfectly! It also has secret pockets which is a personal favourite. And you an eat as much as you want (like a sneaky donut for instance) and the puff of the skirt will hide all sins. All in all, a pretty good find!

Legs out Thursday y'all!

River Island skirt from way back when. Probably to short but it was  sunny, it  was payday and I just did not care! Jumper is H&M (surprise surprise!) It was also the last working day of my week so I was in a mega good mood!
I also went to my first dance class in about 13 years! A brilliant hour learning the Charleston, but I will blog about that at a later date. Don't think my dancing gear of leggings and an old t-shirt needs to be photographed, our final class all frocked up in 20's gear will though!

Friday! Friday! FRIDAY!

This was a rather brilliant Friday, and a called for a rather brilliant outfit! I mentioned that I love a pattern clash but I think even I outdid myself today. Spots, Persian Rug, Stripes. Oh and a tartan coat for good measure. I think it looked good, I checked with my lovely Designosaur pal Karli who has some of the best clothes I have ever seen (and also the most brilliant jewellery brand)and she agreed so off I trotted to London for the day.

Best thing about it is that the top, the tights and the necklace are Primark bargains. The skirt is a Topshop goody. I am very excited for the new HUGE Topshop to open in Brighton. The current one is rather crap so finding this in there was a lovely surprise!

Anyway, in London I met up with my darling  pal Char and we had an awesome day and night looking around the Martin Creed 'What's the point of it?' exhibition at the Hayward Gallery and drinking too much wine and dancing like a pair of loons in Soho.

The best sort of fun, running around a room full of balloons!

It was bloody good fun <3

One hungover Macdonalds breakfast and a pair of banana leggings later it was time for a rail replacement train ride home for a Saturday afternoon and Sunday of relaxing in Brighton.

Never mix Salmon and Banana. Food or otherwise.

Until next week, stay wonky! See ya! xXx
